Destinations

Bukhara

The historic centre has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1993. The core of the city is compact enough to explore on foot.

Poi-Kalon (Kalon Minaret and Mosque), Bukhara

What is worth seeing

Poi-Kalon is an ensemble bringing together the Kalon Minaret, the Kalon Mosque and the Mir-i Arab Madrasah. The Ark Fortress was the ancient citadel of the city’s rulers.

Lyab-i Hauz is a square around a pool, lined with madrasahs and teahouses. The Ismail Samani Mausoleum dates from the 10th century and stands out for its brickwork.

Combined with Samarkand

Bukhara and Samarkand are often combined into one route — the cities are connected by rail. The exact route, transport type and accommodation are stated in each tour description.
